The 9D framework orchestrates end-to-end product development across nine phases: Discovery, Definition, Design, Development, Documentation, Delivery, Data, Debrief, and Deprecation. Each phase has defined exit criteria and artifact requirements, ensuring structured lifecycle governance from initial concept to eventual removal.

Each phase produces specific artifacts: Discovery Brief, Requirements + Experience Spec, Architecture Spec + Implementation Plan, Working Code with tests, Documentation Package, Feature Live deployment with monitoring, Data Report, Debrief Document, and Clean Removal. Gate criteria define exit conditions before progressing to the next phase.
