What problem does it solve?
Convert source documents to navigable Markdown with real headings, sections, and tables so downstream tooling (chunking, memory, search) can reason about structure rather than raw text.
Core Features & Use Cases
- Converts common document formats (PDF, PPTX, DOCX, XLSX, HTML, TXT, CSV, JSON, XML) into Markdown preserving headings and tables.
- Mirrors the original folder structure under a topic's markdown/ directory for easy retrieval and chunking.
- Supports optional PDF outline extraction via PyMuPDF and a PDF post-processing pipeline to improve heading structure.
Quick Start
Run the converter on a single file or a memory folder using python scripts/convert_to_markdown.py with appropriate --file or --memory arguments.
