What problem does it solve?
Adjacent-surface-scan prevents whack-a-mole debugging by correcting the local “family” of related references when a runtime reports a single missing or invalid item.
Core Features & Use Cases
- One-degree-out debugging: Starting from the first named broken item, it inspects the containing file/template and nearby sibling references that share the same role, type, or naming shape.
- Peer-surface comparison: It checks the nearest equivalent surface (locale/scenario/version/working instance) to prefer known-good names and structure rather than inventing placeholders.
- Resolver-aware safe fixes: It verifies resolution/precedence semantics so the fix avoids adding loose placeholders that could override packed/default assets or change lookup order.
- Narrow blast-radius repair: It applies the smallest fix that resolves the local family, and stops when multiple unrelated families appear.
Quick Start
Use adjacent-surface-scan when an error says a single item is missing or invalid, and then scan siblings plus the nearest peer surface before applying the narrow family fix.
