What problem does it solve?
It helps you maintain a reliable, per-system inventory for the EU AI Act by capturing each AI system’s role and risk tier, so you can assess obligations accurately without mixing company-level and system-level duties.
Core Features & Use Cases
- Per-system role & risk tier classification: records provider/deployer/importer/distributor/authorized representative/product-manufacturer and prohibited/high-risk/limited/minimal/GPAI/GPAI+systemic based on the system’s use and characteristics rather than the organization.
- Interactive inventory management: supports listing, adding, editing, classifying (with visible walkthrough + [verify] tags), and showing full system records.
- Lawyer-centered guardrails: forces the classification reasoning to be visible and avoids auto-deriving obligations from a static table, routing into deeper analysis when needed.
- EU nexus tracking: captures whether the system is deployed in, offered to users in, or affects people in the EU/EEA to determine whether the AI Act analysis applies.
Quick Start
Run ai-inventory add, then provide the system name, owner, description, status, and EU nexus so I can store it and offer to run classification next.
