SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Regression testing patterns and automation for AI-assisted development to prevent AI-induced regressions when the same model writes and reviews code.

Core Features & Use Cases

Sandbox-mode API testing without database dependencies
Automated bug-check workflows that prioritize AI-related regressions
Guidance for catching AI blind spots where the model writes and reviews code
Sandbox/production parity checks to ensure consistent responses

Quick Start

Run the bug-check workflow to execute the regression tests in sandbox mode before code review.

FAQPage Schema

How do I prevent AI-induced regressions when the same model writes and reviews code?▼

Regression testing for AI-assisted development prevents AI-induced regressions by automating bug-check workflows that catch AI blind spots when a model writes and reviews code.

Can I run API regression tests in a sandbox environment without a database?▼

Yes, sandbox-mode regression testing automates API route changes without database dependencies by enforcing sandbox and production parity to ensure consistent API response shapes.

What is the best way to automate bug-checks for AI-assisted API route changes?▼

Automating bug-check workflows is the best way to test AI-assisted API changes, prioritizing AI-related regressions and enforcing coverage of common regression patterns before code review.

Does regression testing for AI development work with vitest and mock environments?▼

Yes, automated regression testing applies to sandbox and mock environments using vitest, validating API response shape accuracy and enforcing production parity without requiring live database connections.

When do I need to enforce sandbox and production parity for API testing?▼

You need sandbox and production parity checks during regression testing when validating API response shapes, ensuring that mock environments without databases consistently mirror production behavior.
