SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

This Skill eliminates the uncertainty of what the latest contract language is by reconstructing a contract’s amendment timeline and pinpointing exactly how a clause has evolved.

Core Features & Use Cases

Chronological amendment indexing: Loads a base agreement plus multiple amendments, orders them, and extracts document metadata (dates, parties) and which provisions were modified.
Amendment history summaries (Mode 1): Produces a chronological “what changed over time” view covering the whole agreement.
Provision trace (Mode 2): Tracks a specific clause (e.g., indemnity, liability cap, termination, data protection) across base and amendments, showing only the amendments that touched it and quoting the controlling language.
Guardrails and review support: Flags watch items such as party-name mismatches, section numbering shifts, contradictory amendment language, and likely Deed of Variation considerations, with section references for verification.

Quick Start

Use the amendment-history skill with your base agreement and all amendment files to get either a full amendment timeline or a traced view for the clause you name.

FAQPage Schema

How do I trace changes to a specific clause like an indemnity or liability cap across multiple contract amendments?▼

To trace a specific clause across contract amendments, load the base agreement and all amendment files to generate a provision trace that isolates changes touching your target clause, quoting the exact prior and replacement language with section references.

What is the best way to reconstruct a full contract amendment history?▼

Reconstructing a full contract amendment history involves loading a base agreement and its amendments, ordering them chronologically, and extracting provision-level changes to produce an audit-ready timeline showing how the entire document evolved over time.

How do I flag inconsistencies when reviewing contract amendments?▼

When reviewing contract amendments, you can flag inconsistencies such as party-name mismatches, section numbering shifts, and contradictory amendment language by validating dates and parties across documents to generate a watch-flag report for manual verification.

Can I track how a data protection provision changed from a base agreement through subsequent amendments?▼

Yes, you can track data protection provision changes by requesting a targeted provision trace that follows the clause from the base agreement through subsequent amendments, showing only the edits that modified it with exact quotations.

Do I need section references in my base agreement to track contract changes accurately?▼

Yes, section references are required to track contract changes accurately, as the amendment history output relies on section-referenced quotations of prior and replacement language to verify exactly where and how provisions were modified.

What happens if amendments have conflicting edits or shifted section numbers?▼

If amendments contain conflicting edits or shifted section numbers, the process generates watch-flag reports that highlight these inconsistencies, allowing you to catch contradictory language and section-number shifts before finalizing the audit summary.
