SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

Angular applications often rely on traditional imperative patterns and ad-hoc state containers, making state synchronization across components error-prone and hard to reason about. The Skill introduces a cohesive, signal-based approach to manage writable state, derived state, and side effects.

Core Features & Use Cases

Writable signals with signal() for fine-grained state.
Derived state with computed() to express relationships.
Dependent state with linkedSignal() to react to multiple sources.
Side effects with effect() to trigger reactions and lifecycle behaviors.
RxJS interoperability (toSignal/toObservable) for smooth integration with existing streams.

Quick Start

Start by replacing local component state with signal(), then add derived state with computed() and wire up side effects with effect() to react to changes.

Frequently Asked Questions about angular-signals

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I manage Angular state with signals for fine-grained reactivity?▼

Angular state management with signals uses signal() for writable state, computed() for derived values, and effect() for side effects to achieve fine-grained reactivity across components.

What is the best way to convert RxJS observables to Angular signals?▼

The best way to convert RxJS observables to Angular signals is using the toSignal() function, which bridges existing streams into the signal-based reactive system for smooth interoperability.

How does linkedSignal work for dependent state in Angular?▼

linkedSignal works for dependent state in Angular by reacting to multiple signal sources simultaneously, allowing you to synchronize related state changes without manual imperative updates.

Can I use computed signals for derived state in Angular 20?▼

Yes, you can use computed signals for derived state in Angular 20+ to declaratively express relationships between writable signals, automatically recalculating when dependencies change.

When should I use untracked reads in Angular signals?▼

Use untracked reads in Angular signals when you need to read a signal's value inside an effect without registering it as a dependency, preventing infinite loops and unwanted reactive triggers.

Does this signal pattern replace traditional state containers in Angular?▼

This signal pattern replaces ad-hoc state containers by providing a cohesive approach to writable state, derived state, and side effects, reducing error-prone synchronization across components.
