This skill solves the problem of discovering relevant, up-to-date academic papers when your local corpus may be incomplete or out of date.

Core Features & Use Cases

• Upstream paper discovery: Searches Semantic Scholar first for semantic ranking and metadata, then falls back to the arXiv Atom API for keyword/BM25 discovery when needed.
• Local-aware deduplication: Normalizes arXiv IDs, flags which results already exist in your local CSV corpus, and avoids redundant processing.
• Utility/citation-aware ranking with caching: Uses local utility values or an SQLite utility cache to prioritize novel and high-utility papers, minimizing repeated scoring.

Use the arxiv-bridge skill when your question is research-focused and your local retrieval returns fewer than five results, by asking your agent to bridge search with a limit of 20 for the query.
