SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

This Skill helps diagnose mechanical problems in vehicles by interpreting customer-provided audio recordings of vehicle sounds, reducing the need for immediate in-person inspections.

Core Features & Use Cases

Sound Analysis: Identifies common vehicle sounds like knocking, squealing, grinding, clicking, and humming.
Problem Diagnosis: Links specific sounds to their likely mechanical causes and assesses severity.
Use Case: A customer describes a "deep rhythmic knock" from their engine. This skill can analyze the audio (or description) to identify it as potential rod knock, a critical issue requiring immediate attention.

Quick Start

Use the audio-diagnosis skill to analyze the provided sound recording and identify the likely cause of the vehicle's noise.

Frequently Asked Questions about audio-diagnosis

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I diagnose vehicle sounds from an audio recording?▼

To diagnose vehicle sounds, you provide an audio recording or detailed description of the noise, including when it occurs and how it changes with RPM. The analysis identifies sound types like knocking or grinding and links them to likely mechanical causes such as worn bearings or belt issues.

What types of mechanical issues can sound analysis identify?▼

Sound analysis identifies mechanical issues by interpreting noises like squealing, clicking, and humming. It links these sounds to potential causes such as transmission problems or belt issues, providing a severity rating to determine if immediate attention is required.

Can I use audio diagnosis for troubleshooting without an in-person inspection?▼

Yes, audio diagnosis enables troubleshooting without an in-person inspection by interpreting customer-provided audio recordings. It reduces the need for immediate physical visits by analyzing sound characteristics to assess mechanical problems and severity.

What details do I need to provide for an accurate vehicle noise diagnosis?▼

For an accurate vehicle noise diagnosis, you need to provide detailed descriptions of sound occurrence, changes with RPM or speed, and the specific location of the sound. This contextual information ensures the analysis correctly links the noise to its mechanical cause.

Does audio diagnosis work for identifying engine knocking and rod issues?▼

Yes, audio diagnosis works for identifying engine knocking and rod issues by analyzing deep rhythmic knocks. It can diagnose potential rod knock as a critical issue, providing a severity rating that indicates immediate attention is required.

Are there limitations to diagnosing car sounds through audio analysis?▼

A limitation of diagnosing car sounds through audio analysis is its reliance on detailed descriptions of sound occurrence, RPM changes, and location. Without accurate contextual information about the noise, the diagnostic results linking sounds to mechanical causes may be less precise.
