High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I identify and reduce unnecessary AWS spend across EC2, RDS, and S3?▼

To reduce unnecessary AWS spend, you can analyze usage patterns across EC2, RDS, and S3 to identify rightsizing opportunities. This process generates prioritized actions and savings recommendations without sacrificing performance.

What is the best way to generate a prioritized AWS cost optimization plan?▼

The best way to generate an AWS cost optimization plan is by analyzing usage via AWS Cost Explorer and Budgets. This approach outputs concrete, prioritized actions for compute, storage, and database workloads.

How does AWS rightsizing work for compute and database workloads?▼

AWS rightsizing works by analyzing resource utilization to match instance capacity with actual demand. It lowers spend on compute and database workloads while preserving system reliability and performance.

Can I use AWS Cost Explorer and Budgets for FinOps cost-control initiatives?▼

Yes, you can use AWS Cost Explorer and Budgets for FinOps cost-control initiatives. They provide the governance and monitoring needed to implement ongoing optimization workflows and track savings plans.

Does this approach to cloud cost optimization support networking and storage analysis?▼

Yes, this cloud cost optimization approach supports networking and storage analysis. It evaluates S3 and networking resources alongside compute and databases to deliver comprehensive cost-reduction recommendations.

What are the limitations of using Savings Plans for AWS cost optimization?▼

Savings Plans require a commitment to a consistent usage amount to optimize ongoing spend. They do not address immediate waste from over-provisioned resources, which must be resolved through rightsizing first.
