FAQPage Schema

How do I map AWS Inspector findings to compliance frameworks like SOC 2 or PCI DSS?▼

AWS Inspector findings can be mapped to compliance frameworks by crosswalking security assessment data to regulatory standards like SOC 2, FedRAMP, PCI DSS, and NIST 800-53. This mapping assists auditors in assessment planning and guides security teams in prioritizing remediation for audit readiness.

What is the best way to prioritize AWS security assessment remediation steps?▼

Prioritize AWS security assessment remediation by interpreting Inspector failure modes and evaluating security severity. Distinguish between genuine non-compliance and permission-related inconclusiveness to identify critical issues, such as root MFA absence, and prioritize mitigating the highest risks first.

How does AWS Inspector interpret failure modes for security checks?▼

AWS Inspector failure mode interpretation distinguishes between genuine non-compliance and permission-related inconclusiveness. Understanding what each security check measures and its significance helps security teams accurately diagnose issues and avoid chasing false positives during cloud security assessments.

Can I use AWS Inspector output for FedRAMP and NIST 800-53 audit readiness?▼

AWS Inspector output supports FedRAMP and NIST 800-53 audit readiness by mapping raw security assessment data to these compliance frameworks. This crosswalk enables security teams to generate compliance reports aligned with regulatory standards and demonstrate risk mitigation efforts.

Why does my AWS Inspector security check report inconclusive results?▼

AWS Inspector security checks report inconclusive results due to permission-related inconclusiveness rather than genuine non-compliance. Interpreting these failure modes correctly prevents misdiagnosis, ensuring security teams focus on actual vulnerabilities instead of chasing permission gaps during cloud security assessments.
