Frequently Asked Questions about aws-observability

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I set up AWS observability for logs, metrics, and traces?▼

AWS observability setup requires configuring CloudWatch for logs and metrics, X-Ray for tracing, CloudTrail for auditing, and ADOT to collect telemetry. This Skill guides infrastructure teams through building and configuring these components for comprehensive operational visibility.

What's the best way to monitor a serverless application on AWS?▼

Monitoring a serverless application on AWS is best achieved by combining CloudWatch for metrics, X-Ray for distributed tracing, and S3 log analysis. This approach provides end-to-end observability, enabling DevOps teams to track performance and identify bottlenecks.

Why are my CloudWatch alarms not triggering correctly?▼

CloudWatch alarms may fail to trigger due to misconfigured thresholds, missing metric data, or incorrect namespace configurations. This Skill helps debug AWS monitoring setups by identifying common observability issues and refining alarm settings for accurate operational alerts.

When do I need ADOT versus native AWS X-Ray for tracing?▼

ADOT is needed when you want a standardized approach to collect and export traces, while native X-Ray provides deep integration with AWS services. This Skill supports configuring both, allowing you to orchestrate observability pipelines tailored to your AWS environment.

Can I use this to configure CloudTrail for AWS account auditing?▼

Yes, you can use this Skill to configure CloudTrail for AWS account auditing. It enables cloud infrastructure teams to set up and troubleshoot comprehensive observability components, including CloudTrail, ensuring effective operational management and proactive monitoring of cloud resources.
