Frequently Asked Questions about azure-route-server

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I configure BGP peering between Azure Route Server and an NVA?▼

Azure Route Server enables BGP peering with NVAs by exchanging network routes dynamically across hub-spoke topologies. You provide your NVA IP and ASN details to generate the peering configuration and route propagation settings.

Why are BGP routes not propagating correctly in my hub-spoke network?▼

Route propagation issues in hub-spoke networks often stem from BGP misconfiguration or Route Server peering delays. You can troubleshoot these by validating BGP session states and applying route tuning best practices to ensure proper transit.

What is the best way to design Azure Route Server for multi-region architectures?▼

Designing Azure Route Server for multi-region architectures involves configuring dual-homed setups and regional BGP peering to ensure high availability. You receive expert guidance on topology limits and security policies for cross-region deployments.

Can I use Azure Route Server for BGP peering with my on-premises network?▼

Yes, Azure Route Server supports BGP peering with on-premises networks to exchange routes dynamically. You apply route propagation tuning and security policies to control route advertisement between Azure and on-prem environments.

What are the limits and quotas for Azure Route Server in a production environment?▼

Azure Route Server limits include restrictions on the number of BGP peers and routes supported per deployment. You should review these architectural quotas before scaling hub-spoke or multi-region designs to prevent operational bottlenecks.
