What problem does it solve?

Quickly determine the status of a chain of git branches starting from the current branch, including their associated PRs and review states, to surface blockers and readiness for merging.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Chain traversal: identify parent branches up to a practical depth and report their PR metadata.
  • PR status & reviews: fetch PR numbers, titles, states, review decisions, and latest reviews for each branch.
  • Synchronization checks: report merge-base alignment and ahead/behind status to detect required rebases.
  • Use Case: before releasing or merging, validate that all upstream branches and PRs are ready and no pending reviews block progress.

Quick Start

Run the chain-status skill for the current branch and optionally specify a base-branch to start from.
