What problem does it solve?

This Skill automates the complex process of coordinating multidisciplinary BIM models, identifying clashes, and managing issues efficiently.

Core Features & Use Cases

Clash Detection: Automatically finds interferences between different building systems (e.g., structural vs. MEP).
Model Federation: Combines multiple discipline models into a single federated model for review.
BCF Management: Facilitates issue tracking and communication using the BIM Collaboration Format.
Use Case: When a user requests "clash detection for structural and MEP models," this Skill will initiate the process, identify conflicts, and prepare a report or BCF file for resolution.

Quick Start

Use the bim-coordination skill to detect clashes between the structural and MEP models.

Frequently Asked Questions about bim-coordination

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I automate clash detection between structural and MEP models?▼

Automate clash detection between structural and MEP models by federating multiple discipline models to identify interferences and generate clash reports for design teams.

What is BCF issue management and when do I need it for BIM coordination?▼

BCF issue management tracks and communicates interferences using the BIM Collaboration Format. You need it during BIM coordination to export identified clashes for design teams to resolve.

Can I use IfcOpenShell with Navisworks for model federation?▼

Yes, you can use IfcOpenShell with Navisworks to combine multiple discipline models into a single federated model for review and clash detection.

Does BIM coordination workflow integrate with Notion and Linear for issue tracking?▼

BIM coordination workflow integrates with project management tools like Notion and Linear to track BCF issues and manage escalation for design teams.

What's the best way to export BIM clashes into a BCF file?▼

The best way to export BIM clashes into a BCF file is by running clash detection on a federated model, then facilitating issue tracking using the BIM Collaboration Format.
