Frequently Asked Questions about biodesign-needs-finding

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I write a solution-free Biodesign need statement?▼

A Biodesign need statement defines a specific health problem, target population, and desired outcome without proposing a solution, ensuring teams validate the fundamental need before ideating technologies.

What is the best way to scope a need statement for health innovation?▼

Scoping a health innovation need statement involves systematically defining the problem, target population, and outcome, then validating and refining those elements to ensure the need is neither too broad nor too narrow.

How do I craft a Biodesign need statement starting from scratch?▼

Starting fresh, you sequentially define the problem, population, and outcome, assemble these into a need statement, perform need scoping, and conduct a critical review to finalize the documented output.

Can I use this process if I already have a draft need statement?▼

Returning participants with a draft need statement can use the workflow to perform need scoping and critical review, utilizing Socratic validation prompts to refine existing problem, population, and outcome definitions.

How does Socratic coaching help with Biodesign needs-finding?▼

Socratic coaching drives Biodesign needs-finding by asking probing questions, surfacing evidence, tracking skipped steps, and providing validation prompts to prevent premature solutions and ensure rigorous problem definition.

Where is the finalized need statement documented in the project repo?▼

The finalized need statement and planning notes are saved as a markdown file to docs/planning/need-statement.md within the project repository, providing structured documentation scaffolding for the team.
