SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Blurring sensitive data in screenshots protects user privacy without obscuring context, by applying per-text translucent blurs that preserve color cues like blue links, gray addresses, and dark prices.

Core Features & Use Cases

Per-text translucent blur: applies an individual blur to each sensitive text element, preserving color tones and layout.
Flexible workflow: supports identifying regions, selecting ranges, and applying localized blurs for docs, QA, or product screenshots containing PII.
Use Case: when adding screenshots that include customer names, addresses, prices, emails, or other PII to documentation, blur those elements while keeping the rest of the image legible.

Quick Start

Blur sensitive text in a screenshot by applying per-text translucent Gaussian blurs to each text region.

FAQPage Schema

How do I blur sensitive text in a screenshot while preserving the original layout?▼

To blur sensitive text in a screenshot, apply per-element translucent Gaussian blurs to detected text regions. This protects privacy by obscuring PII while keeping the surrounding layout and color tones legible.

What is the best way to redact PII like names and emails in product images?▼

The best way to redact PII in product images is using localized translucent blurs that detect text regions and preserve color cues. This obscures names and emails while maintaining the visual layout.

Can I blur specific text ranges in a screenshot instead of the entire image?▼

Yes, you can blur specific text ranges by identifying text regions and selecting ranges to apply localized blurs. This flexible workflow supports per-item blurring rather than full-image distortion.

Does blurring PII in documentation screenshots affect the color tone of the text?▼

Blurring PII in documentation screenshots uses a translucent Gaussian blur that preserves the color tone of the text. Blue links, gray addresses, and dark prices remain visually identifiable while the data stays obscured.

When should I use localized blurs instead of blacking out text in QA reviews?▼

Use localized blurs instead of blacking out text in QA reviews when you need to protect privacy while preserving color cues and layout context. This helps reviewers understand the visual structure without exposing sensitive data.
