SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill requires python, yaml, requests, pandas, and includes scripts (resource) and references (resource) and assets (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

This Skill automates the assessment of non-functional requirements (NFRs) like performance, security, and reliability, using evidence-based validation to ensure deterministic outcomes and improve workflow efficiency.

Core Features & Use Cases

Automated NFR Assessment: Evaluates NFRs (performance, security, reliability, maintainability) with evidence-based validation.
Workflow Automation: Orchestrates NFR assessments through step-file architecture, handling create, validate, and edit modes.
Multi-Mode Execution: Supports create, resume, validate, and edit modes for flexibility.
Customization: Allows customization through configuration files and user overrides.
Integration: Integrates with various artifacts and tools for comprehensive assessment.

Quick Start

To start the NFR assessment workflow, run the following command:

bmad-testarch-nfr assess

Frequently Asked Questions about bmad-testarch-nfr

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I automate non-functional requirements assessment for performance and security?▼

You can automate non-functional requirements assessment by running a command-line workflow that evaluates performance, security, reliability, and maintainability using evidence-based validation. This approach orchestrates assessments through step-file architecture to ensure deterministic outcomes.

What is evidence-based validation for NFR testability and compliance?▼

Evidence-based validation for NFR compliance systematically evaluates non-functional requirements to ensure deterministic outcomes. It assesses system testability across performance, security, and reliability domains using automated workflows rather than manual checks.

Do I need Python and YAML configurations to run NFR assessment workflows?▼

Yes, you need Python installed along with YAML configuration files to execute NFR assessment workflows. The automation framework also requires the requests and pandas libraries to handle configurations, user overrides, and assessment artifacts.

Can I resume or edit a non-functional requirements assessment after creating it?▼

Yes, you can resume or edit a non-functional requirements assessment because the workflow supports multi-mode execution. It handles create, resume, validate, and edit modes, allowing you to pause and modify assessments through configuration files and user overrides.

How do I customize non-functional requirements assessment workflows for my system?▼

You customize non-functional requirements assessment workflows through configuration files and user overrides. The framework integrates with various artifacts and tools, allowing you to tailor the evaluation of performance, security, and reliability to your specific system context.

What are the limitations of automating NFR assessment with step-file architecture?▼

Automating NFR assessment with step-file architecture requires specific dependencies like Python, YAML, requests, and pandas. While it provides deterministic outcomes, you must ensure your system configurations and external artifacts align with the framework's create, validate, and edit modes.
