SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Brainstorming helps teams align on intent and requirements before coding, reducing rework and scope creep.

Core Features & Use Cases

Structured ideation sessions to validate goals and constraints.
2-3 alternative design directions with trade-offs.
Documentation of decisions and acceptance criteria for handoff.

Quick Start

Begin by clarifying the problem, collecting assumptions, and obtaining design approval before implementation.

Frequently Asked Questions about brainstorming

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I validate design requirements before starting implementation?▼

To validate design requirements before implementation, use structured brainstorming to clarify goals, document assumptions, and obtain design approval. This reduces rework by aligning teams on intent and constraints early in the product-design process.

What is the best way to run an ideation session for a major architecture decision?▼

The best way to run an ideation session for a major architecture decision is to apply a structured brainstorming process. It clarifies the problem, explores 2-3 alternative design directions with trade-offs, and documents decisions for team alignment.

Can I use structured brainstorming for new feature ideation and refactoring?▼

Yes, you can use structured brainstorming for new feature ideation and significant refactoring. It applies to major behavior changes where early validation matters, ensuring frontmatter-defined entry points and pre-commit design validation before coding.

How do I document design trade-offs for alternative product directions?▼

To document design trade-offs for alternative product directions, conduct a structured ideation session that evaluates 2-3 options. The process ensures you document decisions and acceptance criteria clearly for effective team handoff.

When do I need pre-commit design validation in the design process?▼

You need pre-commit design validation in the design process when tackling new features, significant refactors, or major behavior changes. It ensures frontmatter-defined entry points are met and prevents scope creep before coding begins.
