SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Brainstorming helps teams convert vague ideas into clear design directions by structuring inquiry and validation before implementation.

Core Features & Use Cases

Structured inquiry: ask one clarifying question at a time to surface goals, constraints, and success criteria.
Multi-approach design: generate 2-3 design options with trade-offs and recommended path.
Documentation handoff: produce a concise design write-up and transition to implementation planning.

Quick Start

Begin by exploring the project context and asking one clarifying question at a time to refine the idea, then proceed to propose approaches and present a design for approval.

Frequently Asked Questions about brainstorming

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I turn vague product ideas into concrete designs before implementation?▼

To turn vague product ideas into concrete designs, use a structured brainstorming process that validates requirements through clarifying questions and generates 2-3 design options with trade-offs before any coding begins. This prevents premature building by enforcing exploration and design approval.

What is the best way to structure cross-team design discussions for early-stage features?▼

The best way to structure cross-team design discussions is to enforce a strict brainstorming workflow: explore project context, ask one clarifying question at a time, present multiple design approaches, and finalize a design document for approval before implementation.

How does structured ideation help validate requirements for new features?▼

Structured ideation validates requirements by asking clarifying questions one at a time to surface goals, constraints, and success criteria. This inquiry-first approach ensures all cross-team requirements are documented and approved before proceeding to design presentation.

Can I generate multiple design options with trade-offs for a single product idea?▼

Yes, you can generate 2-3 design options with clear trade-offs and a recommended path for a single product idea. This multi-approach design method allows you to compare solutions and select the optimal direction before producing the final design write-up.

Does the brainstorming process produce documentation for implementation handoff?▼

Yes, the brainstorming process produces a concise design write-up specifically for documentation handoff. After exploring options and presenting the chosen design for approval, it transitions directly into implementation planning to guide the coding phase.

When should I not use a structured brainstorming approach for ideation?▼

You should not use a structured brainstorming approach when you need to immediately write code without validating requirements, as this process strictly enforces exploration, design presentation, and final document approval before any building begins.
