SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes scripts (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

Brainstorming helps teams convert vague ideas into concrete design specifications by guiding context capture, asking clarifying questions, and framing design options before implementation.

Core Features & Use Cases

Context exploration and requirement capture through targeted prompts and document reviews.
Generation of 2–3 design options with trade-offs, followed by user approval.
Documentation of the chosen design into a formal spec and transition to implementation via the writing-plans skill.

Quick Start

Guide the agent to explore project context, ask clarifying questions, present design options, obtain approval, and commit the resulting specification.

FAQPage Schema

How do I turn vague product ideas into concrete design specifications?▼

To turn vague product ideas into concrete design specifications, you need structured context exploration and clarifying questions to frame design options. This process captures requirements through targeted prompts and document reviews before generating formal specs.

What is the best way to present multiple design options with trade-offs for team approval?▼

The best way to present design options with trade-offs is generating 2-3 distinct approaches during ideation and explicitly comparing their constraints. This allows teams to evaluate different product-design paths before approving a final specification.

How does the design brainstorming workflow transition into implementation?▼

Design brainstorming transitions into implementation by documenting the approved design option into a formal spec, then transferring that specification to a writing-plans skill. This ensures the finalized design context directly guides the build phase.

Can I use this ideation process for complex product design and development projects?▼

Yes, you can use this ideation process for complex product design and development projects requiring deep context understanding. It handles multi-step requirement capture, clarifying questions, and formal spec generation suitable for advanced technical workflows.

What are the limitations of using structured ideation for requirement capture?▼

Structured ideation for requirement capture requires explicit user approval at the design options stage before proceeding. It does not bypass the specification phase, meaning teams cannot transition directly to implementation without a formal, approved spec.
