SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Helps teams formalize early-stage ideas by ensuring you understand context, ask clarifying questions, and align on design direction before committing to implementation.

Core Features & Use Cases

Explore project context to gather relevant files, docs, and recent activity.
Ask clarifying questions one at a time to refine purpose, constraints, and success criteria.
Propose 2-3 design approaches with trade-offs and a recommended path.
Present a structured design and obtain user approval before moving to implementation planning.
Generate a formal design brief and transition to the next planning steps.

Quick Start

Begin by outlining the project context, then ask one clarifying question at a time to refine requirements and design.

Frequently Asked Questions about brainstorming

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I elicit project requirements before starting software implementation?▼

To elicit project requirements before implementation, explore project context to gather relevant files, docs, and recent activity. Then ask clarifying questions one at a time to refine purpose, constraints, and success criteria.

What is structured ideation for early-stage product design?▼

Structured ideation for early-stage product design is a stepwise workflow that explores project intent, proposes multiple design approaches with trade-offs, and presents a formal design brief to obtain approval before transitioning to implementation planning.

How do I create a design brief from initial feature ideas?▼

You create a design brief from initial feature ideas by outlining project context, refining requirements through clarifying questions, selecting a recommended design path from proposed options, and generating the formal brief upon design approval.

Can I use structured brainstorming for systems design planning?▼

Yes, you can use structured brainstorming for systems design planning. It applies to early-stage ideation across software and systems, enforcing a stepwise workflow to align on design direction and define constraints before coding begins.

What's the best way to compare design approaches during ideation?▼

The best way to compare design approaches during ideation is to propose two to three options, evaluate their respective trade-offs, and select a recommended path to present for user approval before moving to implementation.
