SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Brainstorming provides a structured approach to uncover user needs, scope, and success criteria before design and development, reducing rework and misalignment.

Core Features & Use Cases

Structured discovery: guide teams through context gathering, questions, and decision logging to align on goals.
Multi-approach design: generate 2-3 viable design approaches with trade-offs and recommended direction.
Design-to-spec flow: translate decisions into a concrete design brief and implementation plan for the next phase.
Guardrails for scope: enforce gating steps (context explore, clarifying questions, design options, approval) to prevent scope creep.

Quick Start

Initiate a brainstorming session by outlining the project goals and constraints, then progress through context exploration, questions, and options until a design is ready for approval.

Frequently Asked Questions about brainstorming

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I turn product ideas into approved design specifications?▼

To turn product ideas into approved design specifications, use structured brainstorming to explore context, ask clarifying questions, propose design approaches, and log decisions. This workflow captures requirements and success criteria before development begins.

What is the best way to facilitate collaborative design exploration?▼

Collaborative design exploration is best facilitated through structured brainstorming sessions that guide teams through context gathering, clarifying questions, and multi-approach design generation to align on goals and document decisions.

How do I prevent scope creep during requirement discovery?▼

Prevent scope creep during requirement discovery by enforcing gating steps: explore context, ask clarifying questions, generate design options with trade-offs, and require approval before committing to a design spec.

Can I generate multiple design approaches with trade-offs before committing?▼

Yes, you can generate two to three viable design approaches with trade-offs and a recommended direction during brainstorming. Teams review these options and select one before committing to a final design specification.

How do I translate brainstorming decisions into an implementation plan?▼

Translate brainstorming decisions into an implementation plan by following a design-to-spec flow that captures approved decisions, success criteria, and scope boundaries into a concrete design brief for the next phase.

When do I need structured brainstorming for product development?▼

Structured brainstorming is needed for product development when you require requirement discovery, design validation, and decision logging. It is essential when clarifying scope and success criteria before committing to implementation.
