SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes scripts (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

Brainstorms ideas and translates them into actionable design concepts before coding begins. It helps teams align on intent and requirements, reducing rework by validating direction up front.

Core Features & Use Cases

Explore project context — examine files, docs, and recent activity to ground the discussion.
Ask clarifying questions — one question at a time to refine purpose, constraints, and success criteria.
Propose approaches & design — present 2-3 options with trade-offs and a recommended path.
Document and align — generate a design specification and secure user approval before implementation.

Quick Start

Start by gathering project context, ask one clarifying question, and present a design for user approval.

Frequently Asked Questions about brainstorming

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I translate brainstorming ideas into actionable design concepts before coding?▼

To translate brainstorming ideas into actionable design concepts, you explore project context, ask clarifying questions one at a time, propose 2-3 approaches with trade-offs, and document a design specification for user approval before implementation.

What is the best way to refine project requirements and validate design direction?▼

The best way to refine project requirements is by asking clarifying questions sequentially to define purpose, constraints, and success criteria, then presenting recommended design paths to secure team alignment and reduce rework.

Can I use design-thinking processes for both UX exploration and system architecture validation?▼

Yes, you can use design-thinking processes for both UX exploration and system architecture validation. The brainstorming workflow applies across product, UX, and system architecture scenarios to ensure intent alignment and safe handoff.

How do I generate a design specification from ideation to ensure traceability?▼

To generate a design specification from ideation, you ground the discussion in recent project activity, propose specific design approaches, and document the agreed direction to secure alignment and traceability before implementation.

Does this brainstorming workflow require any specific dependencies or scripts to operate?▼

No specific external dependencies are required to operate this brainstorming workflow. It relies on internal scripts to examine project files and docs, ask gating questions, and manage the design documentation steps.

When should I not use an automated ideation process for design validation?▼

You should not use an automated ideation process when your project context lacks existing files or recent activity to ground the discussion, as the workflow requires clear gating and contextual inputs to propose valid design options.
