SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Brainstorming provides a guided, collaborative process to turn raw ideas into structured designs by clarifying context, surfacing requirements, and aligning stakeholders before any implementation.

Core Features & Use Cases

Structured discovery: explore project context, constraints, and success criteria.
Multi-step design workflow: ask clarifying questions, propose 2-3 approaches, present design sections, and generate a design doc.
Collaboration guardrails: anti-pattern checks and a checklist to ensure thorough preparation before coding.

Quick Start

Start by clarifying the project goals and constraints, then ask one clarifying question at a time and propose 2-3 design approaches before writing the design doc.

Frequently Asked Questions about brainstorming

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I turn raw project ideas into a structured design doc?▼

To turn raw ideas into a structured design doc, use a guided brainstorming workflow that clarifies project context, surfaces requirements, and aligns stakeholders. This process enforces staged discovery, asking clarifying questions, and proposing multiple approaches before finalizing documentation.

What is the best way to align stakeholders before product implementation?▼

The best way to align stakeholders before implementation is through structured brainstorming that includes collaboration guardrails and anti-pattern checks. By presenting 2-3 design approaches and formal documentation, teams ensure thorough preparation and review cycles before any coding begins.

How does structured ideation work for exploratory projects with many moving parts?▼

Structured ideation for exploratory projects works by guiding teams through a staged discovery workflow. It sequentially explores task context, asks clarifying questions one at a time, proposes multiple design approaches, and generates a formal design doc to manage complex moving parts.

Can I use a brainstorming workflow for requirements gathering and product design?▼

Yes, you can use this brainstorming workflow for requirements gathering and product design. It structures the discovery phase by exploring project constraints and success criteria, then applies a multi-step design workflow to translate those clarified requirements into a proven design doc.

When do I need a formal design presentation for my project?▼

You need a formal design presentation when working on exploratory projects requiring alignment and review cycles. The brainstorming workflow enforces this by presenting design sections and generating a final design doc, ensuring all stakeholders review the proposed approaches before implementation.
