SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill requires pandas, numpy, matplotlib, and includes scripts (resource) and references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

This Skill simplifies building code research and navigation, helping architects ensure compliance without sifting through dense documentation.

Core Features & Use Cases

Code References: Access IBC, Building Regulations (England & Wales), Eurocodes, NCC (Australia), and NBC (Canada).
Calculation Methods: Understand and compute code-related requirements such as occupant loads, fire ratings, and sprinkler distances.
Comparison: Compare building codes across regions to choose the best framework for a project.

Quick Start

Use the building-codes skill to calculate the required number of exit doors for a building with 200 occupants.

Frequently Asked Questions about building-codes

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I calculate occupant loads and fire ratings for building code compliance?▼

To calculate building code compliance requirements like occupant loads, fire ratings, and sprinkler distances, this Skill provides built-in calculation methods. It processes code parameters to compute safety metrics for construction design.

What building codes are supported for compliance research?▼

Supported building codes include the IBC, Building Regulations for England and Wales, Eurocodes, the NCC for Australia, and the NBC for Canada. You can access these references to navigate regional construction compliance.

Can I compare building codes across different regions like IBC and Eurocodes?▼

Yes, you can compare building codes across regions such as IBC, Eurocodes, NCC, and NBC. This comparison functionality helps you evaluate and choose the best regulatory framework for your construction project.

Do I need local building code amendments to use this Skill effectively?▼

Yes, you need knowledge of building codes and access to local amendments. The Skill provides core code references for IBC, EN/BS, and other frameworks, but local amendments are required for accurate project compliance.

What's the best way to determine required exit doors for a specific occupant load?▼

The best way to determine required exit doors is by using the Skill's calculation methods with your total occupant load. For example, input 200 occupants to compute the necessary number of exit doors for building code compliance.
