What problem does it solve?

Bun Runtime helps you choose and correctly use Bun instead of Node so you can get faster installs, run scripts quickly, and use a built-in test runner without breaking your workflow.

Core Features & Use Cases

Drop-in Node-compatible runtime: Run JavaScript/TypeScript with Bun’s performance-focused runtime and supported Node-compatible APIs.
Fast package management and locking: Use bun install with bun.lock (or bun.lockb on older versions) for reproducible setups.
Integrated bundling and testing: Build and test using Bun tooling such as bun build and bun test with a Jest-like API.
Migration and platform guidance: Migrate from node workflows, and configure Bun for deployments (including Vercel runtime settings).

Quick Start

Use Bun for a new project by running bun install, then start your app with bun run dev and verify everything with bun test.
