What problem does it solve?

This Skill eliminates the tedious manual work of compiling a consolidating income statement across multiple legal entities, replacing hours of error-prone spreadsheet work with a single automated workflow that pulls live data from Carta.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Firm-wide P&L aggregation: Sums journal entries across every entity under a firm for a selected month, applying correct revenue sign conventions and section classification.
  • Dual-tab Excel output: Produces a detailed P&L tab with Month and YTD Actual/Budget/Variance columns, plus an executive Summary P&L tab with formula-linked cross-sheet references.
  • Tag-view mode: Optionally breaks down actuals by all firm reporting-tag categories (Department, Function, Geography, etc.) in a wide or long pivot layout.
  • Live data sourcing: Pulls actuals from Carta's data warehouse via MCP and can fetch budgets from Carta Fund Admin, Excel files, or workbook tabs.
