SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Achieving a harmonious blend of hues in multi-hue palettes can be challenging. This Skill helps maintain a consistent chroma across all hues, ensuring a visually cohesive palette.

Core Features & Use Cases

Chroma Capping: Limits chroma of all hues to the lowest achievable value at each brightness stop for a balanced palette.
Algorithmic Harmonization: Uses a generalized version of Evil Martians' Harmony algorithm.
Use Case: For designers and color experts looking to create or audit color palettes that need to look equally saturated at different brightness levels.

Quick Start

Harmonize the chroma of the palette at 100% contrast and apply it to your project.

Frequently Asked Questions about chroma-harmonization

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I balance chroma across multiple hues in a color palette?▼

Balancing chroma across multiple hues requires capping all hues to the lowest achievable chroma value at each brightness stop, ensuring every color appears equally saturated. This chroma harmonization process creates a visually cohesive palette across different brightness levels.

Why does my multi-hue color palette look unevenly saturated at different brightness levels?▼

Multi-hue palettes look unevenly saturated because different hues have different maximum chroma limits at the same brightness. Harmonizing chroma caps all hues to the lowest achievable chroma value at each brightness stop, ensuring equal perceived saturation across the palette.

What is the Evil Martians' Harmony algorithm for color palette harmonization?▼

The Evil Martians' Harmony algorithm is a method for harmonizing chroma in multi-hue palettes. This generalized process analyzes color gamuts and caps chroma at the lowest achievable value for a given set of hues across varying brightness levels to ensure equal saturation.

Can I audit an existing color palette for consistent chroma and equal saturation?▼

Auditing an existing color palette for consistent chroma involves analyzing the color gamuts of all included hues. The process identifies the lowest achievable chroma at each brightness stop and checks whether all hues are capped accordingly to maintain equal saturation throughout.

Do I need color gamut analysis algorithms to harmonize chroma in multi-hue palettes?▼

Color gamut analysis algorithms are required to harmonize chroma in multi-hue palettes. The process demands algorithms capable of analyzing and manipulating color gamuts to identify the lowest achievable chroma cap for each hue across a range of brightness levels.

What is the best way to create equally saturated colors for a multi-hue design system?▼

Creating equally saturated colors for a multi-hue design system is best achieved through chroma capping. By limiting the chroma of all hues to the lowest achievable value at each brightness stop, you generate a balanced palette where every color maintains optimal harmony.
