What problem does it solve?

Locating and inspecting locally saved Codex sessions can be tedious when data is scattered across SQLite state files and a JSONL index. This skill centralizes access to session metadata and previews to streamline review and debugging.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Discover the newest Codex state database automatically from CODEX_SQLITE_HOME or the configured sqlite_home, ensuring you always work with the latest data.
  • List, filter, and inspect sessions by session_id, provider, source, time range, thread_name, title, or preview text, including archived status.
  • Provide a ready-to-run resume command and concise metadata for quick handoffs to the Codex workflow.

Quick Start

Run the codex_session_history.py CLI with your preferred filters to list and inspect local Codex sessions.
