SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Orchestrates streaming of UI props and persistence of component state for Tambo-based interfaces, enabling responsive skeletons, loading indicators, and stable state across sessions.

Core Features & Use Cases

Streaming prop status tracking with global and per-prop visibility
Persistent component state across sessions via useTamboComponentState
Use-case: building interactive, real-time UI panels that stream data in chunks while preserving user edits

Quick Start

Implement a simple component that uses useTamboStreamStatus to render a Skeleton while waiting for data, a LoadingIndicator during streaming, and useTamboComponentState to persist edits across sessions.

FAQPage Schema

How do I show loading skeletons while streaming UI props in React?▼

To show loading skeletons while streaming UI props in React, use useTamboStreamStatus to track stream progress and conditionally render a Skeleton while waiting for data chunks to arrive.

How do I persist component state across sessions in a Tambo React app?▼

To persist component state across sessions in a Tambo React app, apply useTamboComponentState to store user edits and expose safe fallbacks when the component re-mounts.

What is the best way to track streaming status for individual React component props?▼

Tracking streaming status for individual React component props is handled via useTamboStreamStatus, which provides global and per-prop visibility to trigger loading indicators exactly when specific data streams.

Can I use Tambo to manage real-time UI panels that stream data while preserving user edits?▼

Yes, you can use Tambo to build real-time UI panels by combining useTamboStreamStatus for chunked data streaming and useTamboComponentState to preserve user edits persistently across sessions.

Why does my Tambo component lose its state after a streaming session ends?▼

Your Tambo component loses state after a streaming session if it lacks persistent component state management, which you can fix by implementing useTamboComponentState to store data across sessions.
