SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Helps you construct a systematic academic conceptual framework (概念框架 / Conceptual Framework) that functions as a defensible argument, not a loose template—by guiding your theory, literature positioning, and research design into a coherent structure.

Core Features & Use Cases

Ravitch & Riggan-aligned, step-by-step construction: Uses an 8-step, “one-step-at-a-time” workflow with checkpoints, based on Reason & Rigor (理性且严谨 / Reason & Rigor).
Turns inputs into publishable components: Produces Rationale, positionality, literature map, theoretical framework, argument chain, and a concept-map structure.
Bridges “why” and “how”: Connects literature gaps and theory selection to research questions, design, data, and analysis methods.
Bakes in reflexivity and evolution planning: Includes limitations and a concrete plan for updating the framework as evidence accumulates.

Quick Start

Tell an agent: “Use conceptual-framework-builder to help me build my thesis conceptual framework, one step at a time, starting by asking me for my research topic, field, method preference, and paper type.”

FAQPage Schema

What is a conceptual framework in research design and why do I need one?▼

A conceptual framework connects your literature gaps and theory selection directly to research questions, data, and analysis methods, functioning as a coherent structure rather than a loose template to defend your research design.

How do I start writing my conceptual framework if I only have a research topic?▼

You begin by providing your research topic, field, method preference, and paper type, then proceed through an interactive one-step-at-a-time questioning process that produces your rationale, positionality statement, and theoretical framework.

What is the best way to connect theory selection to my research questions and methods?▼

The best way is using the Reason & Rigor methodology to construct a defensible argument chain that bridges your theoretical framework selection, literature gaps, research questions, and data analysis methods into a coherent concept-map structure.

Are there limitations to using a stepwise approach for conceptual framework construction?▼

The stepwise approach requires interactive questioning at each of the 8 steps, meaning you cannot skip stages, but it ensures your rationale, literature map, and theoretical framework are rigorously connected before advancing to your concept-map structure.
