The Config Optimizer finds structural and security issues in Claude Code configuration layers (global and project) and turns scattered findings into prioritized, actionable fixes so maintainers can restore consistency and safety across CLAUDE.md, settings.json, rules, skills, commands, and agents.

Core Features & Use Cases

• Scripted scanning: run included Bash helpers to detect missing files, frontmatter problems, excessive file lengths, and broken globs or paths.
• Checklist-driven analysis: perform per-category optimizations (Rules, Skills, Commands, Agents, Settings, CLAUDE.md) using defined checklists and generate prioritized (Critical/High/Medium/Low/Info) findings.
• Automated remediation workflow: produce a consolidated report template, suggest precise edits, request user approval via AskUserQuestion, and apply safe edits using Edit/Bash tools when allowed.
• Use cases: dotfiles repository audits, onboarding repo-specific Claude settings, periodic security reviews of permissions and deny lists.
