What problem does it solve?

This Skill helps you design user experiences that feel immediately familiar by honoring widely understood conventions from outside your product, so users don’t have to re-learn basic navigation and interaction rules.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Platform conventions: Match native behaviors and UI chrome for iOS, Android, web, macOS, or Windows (e.g., gestures, navigation placement, modal patterns).
  • Category conventions: Follow expectations within established product categories like email, calendars, chat, and file managers so core workflows feel correct.
  • Web and domain conventions: Use standard link, focus, keyboard, and interaction behaviors (and respect domain-specific norms for expert tools).
  • Cross-cultural transfer checks: Validate that visual mappings and iconography actually transfer to your target audience and locales.

Use it when you’re building for a specific platform, entering a known product category, designing icons/gestures, or deciding when deliberate deviation needs explicit framing.

Quick Start

Ask your agent to design the main navigation and core actions for your app by defaulting to the platform and category conventions, and to explicitly justify and frame any intentional deviations.
