SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve? Existing articles often fail to rank because they miss competitor topics, lack EEAT signals, or mismatch search intent. This Skill diagnoses why an article underperforms and systematically upgrades it to outrank top competitors. ## Core Features & Use Cases - Content Diagnosis & SERP Intelligence: Audits the current article's structure, keyword usage, and intent match, then researches the top 10 Google results to confirm what Google rewards for the target keyword. - Competitor Gap & EEAT Analysis: Builds a heading frequency matrix against the top 3 competitors to find critical content gaps, and scores Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness on a 20-point scale. - Guided Rewrite with Approval Gate: Produces a new outline for user approval before rewriting, then runs a final SEO/EEAT checklist and saves the optimized article as a Markdown file with full frontmatter. - Use Case: You have a blog post targeting the keyword "steel recycling" stuck on page 2. Provide the article and keyword, and the Skill identifies missing sections competitors cover, strengthens EEAT signals, and rewrites the post to beat the top 3 results. ## Quick Start Optimize my existing article for the main keyword "steel recycling prices" by analyzing the top competitors and rewriting it to rank higher.

FAQPage Schema
How do I optimize an existing blog post for SEO?

Provide the full article text and its main keyword. The Skill runs an 8-step workflow: diagnosis, SERP research, competitor gap analysis, EEAT scoring, entity mapping, outline approval, rewrite, and a final quality checklist before saving the result.

What is the difference between content optimization and copy editing?

Content optimization analyzes search intent, competitor coverage, and EEAT signals to restructure and rewrite an article for rankings. Copy editing only polishes wording and style without SEO analysis, and writing from scratch is handled by a separate copywriting skill.

What inputs are required to optimize an article for a keyword?

Two inputs are mandatory: the full current article content (pasted or as a file path) and the main target keyword. Project name and target slug are optional and default to sensible values if omitted.

Does the workflow require approval before rewriting the article?

Yes. After building the new outline in step 6, the Skill pauses and asks for user confirmation. It only proceeds to the full rewrite in step 7 after the outline is approved.

Why is my article not ranking even after optimization?

Common causes include uncovered critical content gaps versus top competitors, weak EEAT signals such as missing data or credible sources, and search intent mismatch. The Skill's competitor benchmark in step 8 flags remaining weaknesses and recommends further improvements.
