SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes scripts (resource) and references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

This Skill helps reduce cloud computing expenses by identifying and implementing cost-saving strategies across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Core Features & Use Cases

Cloud Cost Analysis: Analyzes compute, serverless, storage, database, and network costs.
Optimization Strategies: Recommends right-sizing, reserved instances, savings plans, spot instances, and storage tiering.
Use Case: A company is spending too much on AWS. This Skill can analyze their EC2 usage, recommend optimal instance types and purchasing options (like Reserved Instances or Savings Plans), and suggest lifecycle policies for S3 buckets to reduce overall spend.

Quick Start

Use the cost-optimization skill to analyze my AWS spending and suggest ways to reduce costs.

Frequently Asked Questions about cost-optimization

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I optimize cloud costs across AWS, Azure, and GCP?▼

To optimize cloud costs, this Skill analyzes your resource utilization across AWS, Azure, and GCP, then recommends right-sizing, commitment-based discounts, and storage tiering to reduce overall spend.

What are the best ways to reduce AWS EC2 and S3 spending?▼

To reduce AWS spending, this Skill analyzes EC2 usage to recommend optimal instance types and Reserved Instances, while suggesting S3 lifecycle policies and storage tiering for cost savings.

Can I use this Skill to analyze serverless and network data transfer costs?▼

Yes, this Skill analyzes compute, serverless, storage, database, and network costs, specifically targeting network data transfer reduction and serverless optimization to lower your cloud bills.

Do I need detailed knowledge of cloud pricing models to use this Skill?▼

No, this Skill internally leverages detailed knowledge of cloud provider pricing models and optimization tools, so you only need to provide your usage data to receive actionable cost-saving recommendations.

What is compute right-sizing and how does it save on cloud infrastructure?▼

Compute right-sizing matches your cloud instances to actual utilization levels. This Skill analyzes your workload patterns and recommends optimal instance types to eliminate over-provisioning waste.

How do commitment-based discounts like Savings Plans and RIs work for cloud optimization?▼

Commitment-based discounts like Reserved Instances and Savings Plans lower costs in exchange for usage commitments. This Skill recommends optimal purchasing options by analyzing your steady-state compute usage.
