SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Guided spec creation across nine phases from discovery to final assembly.

Core Features & Use Cases

Nine-phase specification workflow (discovery, context gathering, requirements, constraints, architecture, interfaces, error handling, testing strategy, and final assembly).
Type templates for library, feature, and change specs, plus YAML test data generation for TDD-ready outputs.
Supports interactive guided mode or autonomous mode to accelerate spec creation across software projects.

Quick Start

Run /create-spec --type feature to begin generating a complete spec.

Frequently Asked Questions about create-spec

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I generate a complete software specification document from requirements?▼

To generate a complete software specification document, this Skill runs a nine-phase workflow covering discovery, architecture, interfaces, error handling, and testing strategy to produce a finalized spec.

What is the best way to create a design document with YAML test data for TDD?▼

Creating a design document with TDD-ready YAML test data is handled by the final assembly phase, which outputs structured YAML test data alongside the architecture and interface specifications.

Can I use interactive mode to guide feature specification, or does it run autonomously?▼

Feature specification supports both interactive guided mode and autonomous execution, allowing you to either manually steer the nine-phase discovery process or let it generate the spec automatically.

How do I write an architecture specification for a new library or feature change?▼

Writing an architecture specification for a library, feature, or change involves applying built-in type templates across the nine phases to define constraints, interfaces, and testing strategy.

What phases are included in an automated requirements and architecture specification workflow?▼

An automated requirements and architecture specification workflow includes nine phases: discovery, context gathering, requirements, constraints, architecture, interfaces, error handling, testing strategy, and final assembly.

Do I need to provide YAML files to start the spec creation process?▼

You do not need to provide YAML files to start; the spec creation process generates YAML test data during the final assembly phase as an output for TDD-ready workflows.
