SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Create-task automates the scaffolding of a new task directory, generating task.json and task_description.md to standardize task creation and reduce manual setup.

Core Features & Use Cases

Create a new not-started task folder under tasks/ with a properly structured task.json and a task_description.md.
Derive key fields (name, short_description, dependencies, etc.) from the provided free-form input and ensure validation via the verificator.
Enable consistent task creation in workflows and by AI agents, improving reproducibility and governance across projects.

Quick Start

Provide a task description and optional index; the skill will create a new not-started task folder with task.json and task_description.md.

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I scaffold a new task folder with task.json and task_description.md?▼

To scaffold a new task folder, provide a free-form task description and optional index. The skill creates a not-started directory under tasks/ containing a validated task.json and task_description.md file.

What is task provenance and how does workflow automation enforce it?▼

Task provenance ensures structured metadata like name and dependencies are tracked. Workflow automation enforces this by deriving fields from free-form input and running the verificator before task activation to maintain project guardrails.

Can I use free-form input to generate structured task metadata for project aggregators?▼

Yes, you can use free-form input to generate structured task metadata. The skill derives key fields like name and short_description, validating them against project aggregators to ensure consistency and governance across workflows.

What is the best way to automate task creation for AI agents in a workflow?▼

The best way to automate task creation for AI agents is using a scaffolding skill that generates standardized task directories. This ensures consistent task.json creation, improves reproducibility, and enforces workflow guardrails via verificator validation.

Why does task scaffolding require running a verificator before activation?▼

Task scaffolding requires running a verificator before activation to enforce workflow guardrails and task provenance. This validation step checks derived metadata against project aggregators, preventing misconfigured tasks from entering the active workflow.
