SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill requires @tremor/react, react-grid-layout, react-lazyload, recharts, pandas, openpyxl, requests, and includes scripts (resource) and references (resource) and assets (resource) components.

What problem does it solve? Building analytics dashboards requires coordinating many moving parts—KPI cards, charts, tables, filters, real-time data feeds, and responsive layouts—and developers often rebuild this plumbing from scratch for every project. ## Core Features & Use Cases - Widget-Based Architecture: Pre-built patterns for KPI cards with trends and sparklines, chart widgets, and table widgets with loading, error, and empty states. - Real-Time Data Patterns: Implementations for Server-Sent Events, WebSockets, and smart polling that pauses when the browser tab is hidden. - Customizable Layouts: Drag-and-drop grid layouts using react-grid-layout with localStorage persistence, plus quick-start templates using Tremor. - Use Case: A developer needs a sales analytics dashboard with revenue KPIs, a trend chart, a top-products table, and date-range filters that update all widgets together—this Skill provides the component structure, filter context, and data-fetching strategy to build it. ## Quick Start Ask the AI to create a sales analytics dashboard with KPI cards, a revenue trend chart, and a date range filter using Tremor components.

FAQPage Schema

How do I build a React dashboard with KPI cards and charts?▼

Use Tremor for pre-built KPI cards, metrics, and charts with minimal code, or compose custom widgets with a grid layout. Wrap the dashboard in a filter context so date ranges and categories update all widgets together.

Tremor vs react-grid-layout for dashboards—which should I use?▼

Tremor provides pre-styled dashboard components for quick analytics interfaces, while react-grid-layout provides drag-and-drop, resizable widget grids for user-customizable layouts. They can be combined: Tremor for widget content, react-grid-layout for positioning.

How do I add real-time updates to a dashboard?▼

Use Server-Sent Events for unidirectional server-to-dashboard updates, WebSockets when the dashboard must send commands back, or smart polling as a fallback. Smart polling should pause when document.hidden is true to avoid wasted requests.

How do I synchronize filters across multiple dashboard widgets?▼

Create a global filter context holding date range, categories, and regions, then have every widget read filters from that context and refetch when they change. Debounce filter updates and cache results per filter combination to avoid excessive requests.

Why does my dashboard feel slow with many widgets?▼

Common causes are sequential data fetching, missing lazy loading, and refetching identical data. Fetch widget data in parallel with Promise.all, lazy-load off-screen widgets with skeleton placeholders, and cache widget data with a TTL.

Can dashboard layouts be saved and restored per user?▼

Yes. With react-grid-layout, capture the layout in onLayoutChange and persist it to localStorage, then reload it on mount. The Skill's customizable dashboard example demonstrates save, restore, and reset behavior.
