SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes scripts (resource) and references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

When you have a product or scene image and need to decide which camera directions to pursue, manually briefing and generating each angle is slow and inconsistent. This Skill turns one uploaded image into a controlled batch of shot variants—overhead, side profile, low hero, pans, zooms, macro details—while preserving the subject's identity, materials, colors, and logo placement.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Intake-driven shot selection: Renders a compact intake widget so you tick only the shot directions you want instead of receiving a fixed 25-image pack.
  • Preservation-constrained generation: Builds prompts that lock silhouette, proportions, colors, materials, and visible logos while varying only camera and composition dimensions.
  • Shared review wall and handoff: Outputs a white image-wall review board, contact sheet, prompt manifest, and handoff metadata for the next production stage.
  • Use Case: Upload a product photo, select overhead, side-profile, and macro-detail directions, and receive three generated commercial shots with a review board ready for remix or polish.

Quick Start

Use the shot explorer skill to generate overhead, side-profile, and macro-detail shot variants from my uploaded product image.

FAQPage Schema
How do I generate alternate camera angles from a product image?

Provide the source image as the base asset, select shot directions such as overhead, side profile, or low hero in the intake picker, and run the create_shot_explorer.py script with the --generate flag. It writes a jobs.jsonl batch and generates each selected shot through the Codex exec image runner.

What shot directions does the shot explorer support?

It supports three groups: angles (overhead, side profile, three-quarter front, low hero, back view), crops (pan left, pan right, zoom in, wide context), and details (macro detail, material edge, surface texture, surprise angle). You select only the directions you want rather than a fixed pack.

Does the shot explorer preserve logos and product identity?

Yes, every generated prompt instructs preservation of subject identity, silhouette, proportions, colors, materials, logo placement, and surface details. However, generation is prompt-driven, so the handoff metadata includes caveats about logo fidelity and inferred reverse angles.

Can I run the shot explorer without generating images?

Yes, run the script without --generate or with --review-only to write only the prompt manifest, spec, jobs file, and review page. The run can resume later since the manifest and handoff metadata are saved under the output directory.

What are the limitations of AI-generated shot variants?

Generated shots may contain inaccurate inferred back views, imperfect logo reproduction, or unsupported visual assumptions. The skill does not produce final ad layouts, deterministic labels, or legal copy; those belong to the downstream generative-polish stage.
