FAQPage Schema

How do I upscale image resolution while preserving face detail?▼

Image upscaling while preserving facial detail is handled by fal.ai's Clarity Crystal Upscaler, which enhances portrait photography by increasing resolution and clarity. You specify a scale factor, adjust creativity, and select an output format like PNG.

What image formats can I use for image upscaling?▼

For image upscaling, supported input formats include JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and AVIF. You can process these files directly and choose your desired output format, such as PNG, for the enhanced high-resolution result.

Do I need a FAL_KEY environment variable to enhance image clarity?▼

A FAL_KEY environment variable is required to enhance image clarity, as the tool relies on the fal.ai API. Additionally, Python with the fal-client library installed is necessary for optimal performance and successful API communication.

Can I use this image enhancement tool for high-DPI display projects?▼

This image enhancement tool is well-suited for high-DPI display projects because it increases the resolution of low-resolution images. It produces crisp, clear output suitable for print projects and high-DPI displays while preserving texture and facial details.

What is the difference between scale and creativity when super-resolving images?▼

When super-resolving images, scale controls the resolution multiplier, while creativity adjusts the degree of AI-driven alteration during upscaling. Setting creativity to 0 yields a stricter, detail-preserving resolution increase without adding new visual elements.
