SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes scripts (resource) and references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

This Skill helps you systematically analyze the movement of data between components, services, and systems, ensuring secure and efficient data flow.

Core Features & Use Cases

Data Flow Mapping: Visualize how data moves through a system, identifying entry and exit points.
Security Review: Assess encryption, integrity checks, and trust boundaries within data transit.
Use Case: When you need to review the security implications of a data flow in a repository, this Skill can help you trace the path of sensitive data and uncover potential risks.

Quick Start

Use the data-in-transit-review skill to inspect the data flow in the 'login' component of the 'github-repo-data-flow-review' repository.

Frequently Asked Questions about data-in-transit-review

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I map data flow across system components to identify security risks?▼

Data flow mapping visualizes how data moves through a system by identifying entry and exit points, encryption status, integrity checks, and trust boundaries. This Skill systematically traces data movement across components and external systems to uncover potential security risks during transit.

What is a data transit security review and when do I need one?▼

A data transit security review systematically analyzes the movement of data between components, services, and systems. You need one when assessing encryption, integrity checks, and trust boundaries to ensure secure data flow across system components and external systems.

How do I trace sensitive data paths and check encryption in a repository?▼

You trace sensitive data paths by analyzing data movement across system components and external systems. This Skill inspects data flow in specific repository components to assess encryption, integrity checks, and trust boundaries for potential security implications.

Can I use this to review data flow for a specific component in my repository?▼

Yes, you can review data flow for specific repository components. The Skill inspects the data flow in targeted components, such as a login component, to analyze data transit mechanisms, protocols, and security boundaries.

What do I need to know about data transit mechanisms to use this analysis?▼

The analysis requires in-depth knowledge of data transit mechanisms and protocols. Understanding how data moves between services and external systems helps you effectively interpret the identified entry points, exit points, encryption, and trust boundaries.

What are the limitations of analyzing data movement across external systems?▼

Analyzing data movement across external systems is limited by the complexity of transit mechanisms and protocols. The review requires deep knowledge of these systems to accurately identify trust boundaries, encryption, and integrity checks without missing external entry or exit points.
