SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

This skill helps teams overcome the lack of cohesive, up-to-date data-model documentation by automatically generating ERDs, DTOs, and data-flow diagrams from codebases.

Core Features & Use Cases

ERD generation: Document database schemas, relations, and constraints from Prisma, TypeORM, Sequelize, or Mongoose models.
DTOs & domain models: Generate and document service-layer data structures and business logic data shapes.
UI data flows: Visualize end-to-end data movement from UI to API to database.

Quick Start

Generate a complete data-model report for the current project and save it to ./docs/architecture/data-model.md.

FAQPage Schema

How do I generate an ERD from my Prisma or TypeORM schema?▼

Generate an ERD from Prisma or TypeORM schemas by scanning your codebase to map database tables, relations, and constraints. The output is a Markdown file containing Mermaid entity-relationship diagrams and detailed schema definitions.

What is the best way to document UI to database data flow automatically?▼

Document UI to database data flow by analyzing frontend and backend structures to map end-to-end data movement. It visualizes how data travels from the user interface through APIs to the database in a comprehensive Markdown report.

Can I document Mongoose models and Sequelize schemas in the same project?▼

Yes, you can document Mongoose models and Sequelize schemas in the same project. The tool supports Prisma, TypeORM, Sequelize, and Mongoose to extract schemas and generate unified data-model documentation.

How do I extract DTOs and domain models for architecture documentation?▼

Extract DTOs and domain models for architecture documentation by parsing service-layer code to identify data structures. It automatically generates and documents these data transfer objects alongside your ERDs.

Where is the generated data model documentation saved?▼

The generated data model documentation is saved as a single Markdown file at ./docs/architecture/data-model.md. This file contains the Mermaid ERD, table definitions, DTOs, and end-to-end data-flow visualizations.
