Frequently Asked Questions about databricks-lakebase-autoscale

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I set up autoscaling for PostgreSQL on Databricks Lakebase?▼

You set up PostgreSQL autoscaling on Databricks Lakebase by following structured guidance for projects, branches, and computes that enables scale-to-zero and instant restore capabilities. This reduces setup time and prevents misconfiguration.

What is environment branching in Lakebase and when do I need it?▼

Environment branching in Lakebase is a workflow pattern for creating isolated PostgreSQL database copies for development and testing. You need it when building cloud-native applications that require rapid dev/test branching and instant restore without impacting production.

How do I manage OAuth credentials for a Databricks Lakebase project?▼

You manage OAuth credentials for a Databricks Lakebase project by applying best-practice patterns for secure credential provisioning. This ensures generated credentials are correctly connected when applications initialize and access autoscaled PostgreSQL resources.

Can I use Lakebase autoscaling for reverse ETL synced tables?▼

Yes, you can use Lakebase autoscaling for reverse ETL synced tables. The Skill provides reference patterns for enabling reverse ETL workflows via synced tables on autoscaled PostgreSQL within the Databricks environment.

Does Lakebase autoscaling support scale-to-zero for PostgreSQL compute?▼

Yes, Lakebase autoscaling supports scale-to-zero for PostgreSQL compute. The Skill provides best-practice patterns for managing computes across the lifecycle to reduce costs while maintaining instant restore capabilities.
