Frequently Asked Questions about design-discovery

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I run a design discovery session to understand user needs and project constraints?▼

To run a design discovery session, describe your project goals and constraints to receive tailored conversational guidance. This framework facilitates exploring user needs and intent naturally, capturing insights to define scope before any implementation work begins.

What is design discovery and when do I need it for early-stage project work?▼

Design discovery is the structured process of understanding project needs, user context, and constraints. You need it for early-stage design work to ensure stakeholder alignment and gather insights before transitioning to planning, strategy, or visual implementation phases.

Can I use conversational exploration to create a detailed design brief without formal questionnaires?▼

Yes, you can use conversational exploration to create a detailed design brief without formal questionnaires. The framework guides natural dialogue to explore intent and constraints, then automatically drafts a structured brief and prompts for stakeholder approval.

What is the best way to align stakeholders during the design research process?▼

The best way to align stakeholders during design research is through iterative conversational discovery using structured prompts. This ensures clarity on user needs and project scope, culminating in an automated design brief that prompts approval and maintains process integrity.

Does design discovery work for quick sessions or does it require a long process commitment?▼

Design discovery works for both quick and full sessions. The framework provides structured steps tailored to your available time, allowing you to gather insights and define project scope efficiently without mandating a lengthy process commitment for early-stage alignment.

Why should I conduct design research before starting visual or implementation work?▼

You should conduct design research before visual work to understand project constraints and user context thoroughly. This early-stage discovery prevents misalignment, defines clear scope, and produces a detailed brief to guide subsequent planning and strategy execution accurately.
