SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Establishes a unified, living contract for UI by defining a single source of truth for colors, typography, spacing, and components to prevent drift across projects.

Core Features & Use Cases

Establish and enforce a design system across projects to ensure visual consistency.
Provide centralized tokens and component guidelines that can be applied across teams and platforms.
Use case: onboarding new engineers and designers by referencing a shared token set and component rules.

Quick Start

Define or align your project with a centralized design system by extracting tokens from the DESIGN.md and applying them to your UI codebase.

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I enforce UI consistency across multiple front-end projects?▼

A design system prevents visual drift by providing a single source of truth for centralized tokens, including colors, typography, and spacing, ensuring visual consistency across all front-end projects.

What is a UI token and how does it standardize component rules?▼

UI tokens standardize component rules by defining centralized variables for colors, typography, and spacing, providing scalable guidelines applied uniformly across platforms from a single source of truth.

How do I onboard new engineers to an existing UI design system?▼

Onboard new engineers by referencing a shared token set and centralized component rules extracted from your design system documentation, ensuring they apply standardized colors, typography, and spacing accurately.

Can I use a centralized design system for design and code reviews?▼

Yes, you can use a centralized design system for design and code reviews. It provides guidance for auditing, updating, and applying design standards, ensuring components meet established scalable rules.

How do I extract design tokens from documentation to align my UI codebase?▼

Extract design tokens by retrieving centralized colors, typography, and spacing definitions from your design system documentation, such as a DESIGN.md file, and applying them directly into your UI codebase.

When do I need to audit my design system tokens?▼

You need to audit your design system tokens when visual drift occurs across platforms or during updates. The system supports auditing and updating design standards to maintain a unified living contract for UI components.
