SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

This Skill helps you turn an under-evidenced but promising product idea into the smallest experiment that can prove it wrong or justify moving forward. It is useful when you need to de-risk a bet without overcommitting to build work.

Core Features & Use Cases

Riskiest Assumption Selection: Identifies the single assumption most likely to kill the idea if it is false.
Cheapest Validating Test Design: Chooses the lightest experiment that can produce a decisive signal, such as a landing page, interview sprint, concierge test, or instrumentation change.
Decision Thresholds: Defines pass/fail criteria before the test runs so results are objective and actionable.
Use Case: A product team has a promising feature idea but weak evidence of demand; this Skill designs a fast, low-cost test to validate whether customers actually care before committing engineering time.

Quick Start

Ask the skill to design the cheapest experiment to validate your riskiest assumption for the current product bet.

FAQPage Schema

How do I design a cheap experiment to validate a product hypothesis?▼

Product experiment design identifies the riskiest assumption of a product bet and selects the cheapest test method, such as a landing page or interview sprint, to falsify it before committing build effort to the feature.

What is an assumption test for reducing product risk?▼

An assumption test for product risk reduction isolates the single hypothesis most likely to kill your idea if false, then designs a minimal experiment with pre-set pass/fail thresholds to validate demand objectively before scaling.

How do I set pass/fail decision thresholds for a product test?▼

Set decision thresholds before the product test runs by defining specific pass/fail criteria based on sample size, instrumentation data, and duration, ensuring experiment results remain objective and actionable without bias.

When should I use a concierge test or landing page for product validation?▼

Use a concierge test or landing page for product validation when you have a promising feature idea but weak evidence of demand, allowing you to de-risk the bet cheaply before committing engineering time.

What is the best way to de-risk a product bet without overcommitting to build work?▼

The best way to de-risk a product bet without overcommitting is to design the smallest experiment targeting the riskiest assumption, using a falsifiable test with defined methods, samples, and pre-set thresholds to justify moving forward.
