SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Design thinking helps teams solve ill-defined problems by aligning solutions with user needs.

Core Features & Use Cases

Three frameworks — Double Diamond (UK Design Council, 2004), GV Design Sprint, and JTBD Switch Interview — to choose the right method for the problem and team.
Depth calibration options (Quick, Standard, Deep) to match scope and time constraints.
Research synthesis steps (Gather, Distill, Ground, Deliver) to connect insights to opportunities.

Quick Start

Describe your current undefined problem and audience, and I will apply the most appropriate design-thinking framework to create a structured problem map.

Frequently Asked Questions about design-thinker

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I apply design thinking to solve an ill-defined problem?▼

Design thinking solves ill-defined problems by aligning solutions with user needs. It provides structured exploration through frameworks like Double Diamond, GV Sprint, and JTBD to map ambiguous problem spaces and define audiences.

What is the best design thinking framework for prioritizing ideas across audiences?▼

Prioritizing ideas across audiences depends on your team's needs. Double Diamond, GV Design Sprint, and JTBD Switch Interview frameworks each offer structured decision-making guidance tailored to different problem scopes and team constraints.

How do I structure a design thinking problem map from research synthesis?▼

To structure a design thinking problem map, use the Gather, Distill, Ground, and Deliver synthesis steps. This process connects user research insights to opportunities, producing a structured canvas with problem framing and decision criteria.

Can I use the GV Design Sprint framework for quick audience definition tasks?▼

Yes, you can use the GV Design Sprint for quick audience definition. The framework supports depth calibration options—Quick, Standard, and Deep—allowing you to match the exploration scope to your specific time constraints.

When should I not use design thinking frameworks for problem solving?▼

Design thinking frameworks should not be used for well-defined problems with clear technical solutions. They are specifically suited for ambiguous problem spaces requiring human-centered problem solving and audience alignment.

Why does design thinking require choosing between Double Diamond and JTBD frameworks?▼

Design thinking requires choosing between Double Diamond, GV Sprint, and JTBD because each framework addresses different problem types. Selecting the right method ensures the structured canvas accurately frames the problem and guides decision-making.
