SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

This Skill helps tackle ambiguous problems by applying structured, human-centered design thinking methodologies, ensuring solutions are desirable, feasible, and viable.

Core Features & Use Cases

Methodology Selection: Choose between Double Diamond, GV Design Sprint, or JTBD Switch Interview based on the problem's nature and timeline.
Ideation & Prototyping: Utilizes tools like Crazy 8s and Assumption Mapping to generate and test solution concepts.
User Understanding: Employs techniques like Empathy Maps and JTBD interviews to deeply understand user needs and motivations.
Use Case: A product team is struggling to define the next feature set for their app. They can use this Skill to conduct JTBD interviews to understand user needs, then apply the Double Diamond framework to ideate and define the most impactful features.

Quick Start

Use the design-thinker skill to apply the Double Diamond framework to the problem of reducing user churn.

FAQPage Schema

How do I apply design thinking to solve complex ambiguous problems?▼

Design thinking solves ambiguous problems by applying IDEO-style methodologies to ensure solutions are desirable, feasible, and viable. It uses structured divergence and convergence for user-centered innovation.

What is the best way to choose between Double Diamond and GV Design Sprint?▼

Choosing between Double Diamond and GV Design Sprint depends on your problem's nature and timeline. Double Diamond facilitates broad problem definition and ideation, while GV Design Sprint accelerates rapid prototyping and testing.

How do I conduct JTBD Switch Interviews for user research?▼

JTBD Switch Interviews are conducted to deeply understand user needs and motivations when defining features. This method employs structured questioning to uncover the jobs users hire your product to do.

Can I use Assumption Mapping and Crazy 8s for solution ideation and prototyping?▼

Assumption Mapping and Crazy 8s are used for solution ideation and prototyping within design frameworks. Assumption Mapping identifies critical hypotheses to test, while Crazy 8s rapidly generates diverse solution concepts.

When should I use Empathy Maps in the problem definition process?▼

Empathy Maps are used during problem definition to deeply understand user needs and motivations. They synthesize observations into structured insights, ensuring accurate problem framing before solution ideation.
