SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

Engineering managers often struggle to measure team delivery and translate those numbers into actionable business insights. This skill consolidates key frameworks—DORA metrics, DevEx dimensions, and translation layers—to provide a structured, context‑aware approach without focusing on individual performance.

Core Features & Use Cases

Framework Guidance: Summarizes DORA’s four key metrics and DevEx’s three dimensions.
Context‑Aware Prompts: Checks for existing EM context and gathers missing team or report details before offering advice.
Actionable Output: Delivers concise diagnoses, metric setups, anti‑pattern warnings, and concrete next steps.
Use Cases: Answer questions like “how do I measure productivity?”, “what are DORA metrics?”, or “how do I tie engineering metrics to business outcomes”.

Quick Start

Ask the skill to evaluate your team's delivery health using DORA metrics and suggest improvement actions.

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

What are DORA metrics and how do they measure engineering productivity?▼

DORA metrics measure engineering productivity through four key delivery indicators: deployment frequency, lead time for changes, change failure rate, and time to restore. This skill analyzes these metrics to identify gaps and generate concrete improvement recommendations for team performance.

How do I translate engineering metrics into business outcomes?▼

Translate engineering metrics into business outcomes by applying structured framework layers that connect delivery data to strategic goals. This skill provides context-aware analysis to help managers bridge technical metrics with actionable business insights during performance conversations.

How do I measure developer experience and team performance without evaluating individuals?▼

Measure developer experience and team performance using DevEx dimensions—feedback loops, cognitive load, and flow state—without evaluating individual contributors. This skill consolidates these frameworks to assess team-level delivery health and pinpoint systemic productivity gaps.

What is the best way to set up measurement frameworks for software engineering productivity?▼

The best way to set up software engineering productivity measurement is combining DORA delivery metrics with DevEx dimensions. This skill delivers tailored measurement setups and anti-pattern warnings to ensure your tracking focuses on team performance rather than individual surveillance.

How do I diagnose engineering productivity gaps using delivery and DevEx metrics?▼

Diagnose engineering productivity gaps by analyzing delivery and developer experience metrics together. This skill processes existing team context to generate concise diagnoses, highlighting systemic bottlenecks and providing actionable next steps for performance improvement.
